Executive PhD in Business

The Curriculum

A Flexible, Innovative Format

Through the blended executive-style learning format of the Executive PhD, you can complete your doctorate in three years while continuing your full-time career.

Your Cohort: Move through the program with the same set of peers and expand your network.

Years 1 & 2

Year 3

On-Campus Immersions

All day Friday and Saturday (travel days are Thursday and Sunday), nine times per year.

Real-time Online Discussions

Between immersions you'll engage in live discussions with your cohort and professor one to two times per week.

Applied Research Practicum

Starting the summer of your first year, you'll propose and then conduct research in your unique area of interest.

Year 3

Dissertation

During your third year, you'll start your dissertation on a personalized topic, working with a three (or more) person committee.

The Curriculum

Students follow one of two tracks based on their research. Secondary Data Research Methodologies is based on the analysis of large secondary data sets using AI and other tools. Primary Data Research Methodologies centers on on collecting and analyzing primary behavioral data.

Program Completion Time and Cost

The program is designed to be completed in three years. However, the program may take longer than three years to complete if there is a delay in completing your dissertation.

Program tuition is $50,400 per year for three years. This includes meals and receptions during the on-campus immersions, statistical software and books. Students are responsible for travel and lodging costs associated with immersions.

Scholarships and Assistanceships

Limited scholarships are available for all applicants. Applicants interested in finance or real estate should contact Dan Baack for additional requirements.

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to students who aren't employed full time.

The Applied Research Practicum Series

The Applied Research Practicum Series prepares you for your independent dissertation. It also helps you generate original research for presentation or publication at the end of your second year. You'll perform a research project with a team of students and a faculty member.
