This pillar aims to provide every student with the transformative learning experiences and support that are necessary to become agile contributors in a rapidly changing global marketplace.

2035 Goal: We will use a holistic, innovative journey to shape the future of education, developing forward thinking, people-focused, principled leaders with strong problem-solving skills.

Target Initiatives:

  • Create a Student Success Center to provide services and mentorship to align their coursework and experiences with their aspirations.
  • Create a cohesive, scalable challenge-based curriculum framework.
  • Establish a new Graduate School that will elevate the Daniels name, create brand awareness and provide resources for a truly differentiated experience.
  • Ensure all students are transformed by DU's 4D Experience: deepen intellect, develop well-being, discover character and design careers and lives of purpose.

Pillar: Impactful Research

The goal is to increase the quality, visibility and impact of Daniels research by incentivizing and recognizing high-quality research, supporting the pursuit of external funding, working with businesses on applied research problems, and translating and promoting our findings.

2035 Goal: As a Carnegie-classified R1 institution, we create groundbreaking, impactful research to facilitate meaningful change and elevate our standing as a premier business school.

Target Initiatives:

  • Incentivize and support research productivity by developing transparent award systems that take a balanced scorecard approach.
  • Provide financial and infrastructure support to encourage the pursuit of internal and external funding.
  • Facilitate faculty engagement with businesses and community partners to work on applied problems and increase the societal impact of our research.
  • Externally promote Daniels research expertise, encouraging and supporting faculty dissemination of research that reaches practitioners.
  • Increase the involvement of undergraduate, graduate and Executive PhD students in faculty research and industry forward research.
  • Advance applied research and thought leadership by publishing relevant research and case studies.

This pillar seeks to position Daniels as a national leader in innovation by cultivating a vibrant ecosystem where technology, entrepreneurship and cross-disciplinary research intersect to solve real-world challenges, fuel industry advancement and elevate business education.

2035 Goal: We will build a dynamic and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that empowers students to think creatively, take risks, navigate uncertainty and execute.

  • Target Initiatives:
  • Establish tech-focused innovation learning labs in partnership with industry.
  • Build a beta-testing facility for emerging technologies that will leverage analytics and AI and support innovation.
  • Expand a focus on continuous innovation through our people and our processes.
  • Integrate and expand entrepreneurship access and resources through the unification of entrepreneurship-related centers into a cohesive hub.
  • Grow a local innovation ecosystem by partnering with Front Range universities and regional stakeholders.
  • Build a Venture Finance Center and establish the Institute for Leadership and Business Excellence.
