Recruit at Daniels
From posting jobs and internships to hosting your organization on campus, Daniels provides you with a variety of options to connect with our students and alumni. Daniels Career Services works diligently to match student qualifications to your needs for full-time or part-time work, internship opportunities and consulting projects.
There are a number of ways to recruit the sought-after talent from Daniels:
- Career events and fairs provide you with a simple, quick way to introduce yourself to students.
- Company information sessions and meet and greets let you introduce students to your company, the corporate culture and the type of jobs you typically recruit.
- On-campus interviews are an excellent way for your organization to sit down with Daniels students to learn more about the diverse talent they possess.
- Company site visits are an opportunity for you to host a group of students at your office to highlight your company's jobs or internships, products or services, and what types of students thrive in your organization.
Hiring International Students
International students offer valuable experiences and perspectives to companies operating in today’s global economy. Most international students are in the U.S. on non-immigrant student visas (F-1), making them eligible to accept employment under certain conditions.
- Internships: F-1 students are eligible to work in paid internships on curricular practical training (CPT).
- Full-time: F-1 students are eligible to work up to 12 months post-graduation on optional practical training (OPT). MSAQF and MSBA (STEM degrees) can work up to 29 months.
- CPT and OPT paperwork is handled by the students and the University.
- Employers can hire international students after the OPT period for a total of six years (two three-year periods) under the H-1B visa category (employer sponsorship required).
LEAD Mentorship Program for hospitality majors
The LEAD (Learning by Example, Attaining Distinction) Mentorship Program pairs undergraduate hospitality students with professionals in a similar field and/or career trajectory.
Each mentor/protégé pair is encouraged to meet once per month throughout the school year, and attend a speed-networking kickoff event and a year-end celebration.
Protégés gain guidance and support from someone in their industry of choice, build connections with professionals in the community and clarify their own goals and potential future career path. Mentors provide professional advice to a student interested in their industry, attract talent to their company, build their brand on campus and foster connections with future professionals of their community.
