The Re:Make Studio at Daniels College of Business is your space to design, repair, and reimagine. It’s a place to practice, experiment, and bring your projects to life. Whether you’re threading a needle for the first time or refining your craft, you’ll find tools, training, and community to support your journey.

Hours & Location

Location: Daniels College of Business, Room 147

Fall 2025 Open Hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: 9:30–11:30 AM
  • Friday (Training & Certification): 12:00–2:00 PM
    Certifications offered weekly — sign up for a Friday session here.

During open hours, you can:

  • Tour the space and learn what’s available

  • Get introduced to sewing machines and tools

  • Work alongside a Teaching Assistant for guidance

Certified users enjoy 24-hour access to the Re:Make Studio outside of open hours.

(Hours may vary during breaks and holidays.)

How to Access the Re:Make Studio

Getting started is simple. Certification is required for keycard access to the space.

  1. Drop in during Open Studio Hours to explore the space and ask questions.

  2. For 24-hour access, get certified by completing the one-hour training.

  3. Attend a Sewing Club event to build skills and connect with the community. Sewing Club


Certification & Training

Certification is earned through a one-hour introductory training, offered weekly on Fridays. In this session, you’ll:

  • Learn the basics of operating sewing machines safely

  • Review studio guidelines and best practices

  • Complete a short skills check to demonstrate your understanding

When your training is complete, bring your certificate to Ashley Mercer’s office in DCB 155J to obtain your access credential and gain keycard entry to the studio.

A variety of fabrics, scraps, and repurposed items waiting to be transformed into something new.

Rules of the Space

To keep the studio safe and welcoming for all:

  • Respect the space and your fellow makers.

  • Only use sewing equipment you’re certified on.

  • Clean up your workspace before you leave.

  • Return all tools and supplies to their homes.

  • Report any broken or missing equipment.

Failure to follow these rules may result in loss of studio access
