The Executive Master’s in Real Estate and Construction Management (XRECM) is an online degree with a fully integrated curriculum designed to develop business leaders with the knowledge, skills and holistic perspective needed to lead in the real estate and construction industries.

Designed for experienced leaders, the XRECM combines a high-impact business perspective with the flexibility to lead from anywhere in the world.

Degree format

  • 12 courses equaling 48 credit hours (the same as our in-person program)
  • Lockstep curriculum without electives—a streamlined path built for maximum impact
  • 2 courses per quarter
  • Courses meet once per week, 5:30-7:30 p.m. MT
  • Three in-person residencies
    • Bootcamp (program kickoff)
    • Global Immersion (the following summer)
    • On-campus Capstone Project (end of program)

Apply to the Executive Masters in Real Estate and Construction Management

Applicants are required to have at least 3 years of industry experience. To apply, you must submit:

  • Official college transcript(s)
  • Professional resume
  • Essays
  • $100 application fee

GMAT or GRE scores are optional. If you determine that your application will be stronger with GMAT or GRE scores, please submit them when you apply.

All accepted students are automatically considered for scholarships. No additional application is needed.

How is an executive program different from a traditional master's?

An executive degree is designed for experienced, working professionals who want to advance their careers without pausing them. You’ll learn alongside a cohort of peers with similar professional experience, allowing for deeper discussions, stronger networks and immediate application of what you learn to your current role.

What type of experience do I need?

This program is designed for professionals who already have at least 3 years of experience in real estate, construction management or a related field such as architecture or engineering. Applicants are expected to bring a foundation of industry knowledge, along with practical, on-the-job experience they can build on throughout the program.

How do the online classes work?

Each class will meet once per week, 5:30-7:30 p.m. You'll discuss, ask questions, and interact with your professor and classmates just as you would in an in-person class.

Are there additional scholarships available for this program?

Yes, the industry is full of different organizations offering scholarship opportunities for students pursuing a degree in either construction or real estate.
